Camera Array Beta Development

This project was created with a 15 camera array to capture a Matrix-style bullet-time experience for an anonymous client. Our team was tasked with beta experimentation with the technology in development, my contribution was Mary’s Dragon. I recreated the array of 15 cameras in Unity Game Engine’s virtual space, placed a 3D model of a dragon in the center, measured at the same distance as Mary’s hand, and then exported the whole shabang into After Effects. Layering the dragon’s footage onto Mary’s, and keying out the Unity background, we were left with this bullet time Augmented Reality. At the end of the project, I exported the Unity environment set-up as a tool for our client to continue exploring AR with the camera array.

Continued work on the camera array project, testing speed, distance, and storytelling using the camera array tools, a pickup truck, generator, and a bike.
